Drow

Universally reviled, they are a race of demon-worshiping marauders dwelling in the subterranean depths of the Underdark, emerging only on the blackest nights to pillage the surface dwellers they despise. Were there a face for the book of shadows, the Drow might very well fit the title.
At the turn of peace, the first of races to separate themselves were the Dark Elves, more commonly known as 'Drow'. It is said that when Kauhl delivered texts of the forbidden novel, their ancient leader, Nhil O'Char, was the very first to receive this and thus, an eternal alliance had been made. With era's of controversial wars waged against them and the suffering of their people endless, the cavern's which they dwell has forbidden outsiders beyond their own from entry.
This subrace of elves carry extremely contrasting features from inky skin and daunting eyes and hair bright as pearls. They are not well known for their cunning tongues, strength, intelligence, aloof nature and reserve but rather the stigma of countless leaders that follow the dark overlords ambitions.
However, old traditions have yet to dwindle and many of these creatures still intend on carrying out Kauhl Par's will and given the exposure to dark magic at the beginning of their childhood, many of them are inherently brainwashed between what is truth from tale. For those that are deemed weak in the caverns are outcasted or killed and those that abandon their homesteads will often be met with physical confrontation.
Physical Appearance
Most of the Dark Elves have inky skin- this can range from obsidian black to a paltry iron cast, especially for half races. Depending on exposure to the sun or parental factors, their hide can carry undertones of blue or green. Though vermilion hues are the most common, their eyes can also be black, violet, gold and in very rare chances, an off white. By the time a Drow has reached their 2000th year, their eyes will be completely white.
Their builds are equally as impressive as they can be frightening for those that have never stumbled upon a Drow before. The race is taller than that of humans but shorter than their other Elven kin. Women can range between 5'4-6'4 and men between 5'7-6'7. Their ears point like daggers and their build feels sturdy like stone to the touch. Many have even deemed Drow akin to vampires, due to two sets of upper and lower teeth whetted, their claws are protracted and honed. This fable also accounts for dark Elves being exceptionally blinded by sunlight and when exposed to the lantern in the sky for an extended period of time, their flesh will begin to ache and soften. For this reason, Drow are rarely seen out in the daytime and if they are, they are often heavily mantled and chance brandishing a lighter cast than most cavern dwellers who look down upon fair skin.
Lifespan
The Drow have an impressive span of time, which can date between 2,800 and 3,000 years of age. However, due to a surplus of wars and ambushes, many of the ancient Drow have long passed.
Common Locations
Reproduction
Drow can reproduce within their own people, humans and other elves, however the chances vary per age, race and fertility. Their fecundity is lesser than that of the average race. At the cost of greater magic knowledge, there is a risk that the Drow will become fruitless. For Drow that do hone in on their magical capabilities, there will be a slim chance of offspring between themselves and a race that is not their own. Amongst themselves, there is a 1/4 chance a mother will bear a child and this must be accomplished by the time of their juvenescence until the year 500 of their lives.
As with many things, there is a risk when one mates. Players will be required to roll for this chance to determine if a pregnancy was achieved or not.
