Rules
1. Do not mix OOC with IC. If you have conflict with someone OOC or IC do not let it affect the other area.
2. Follow the lore when creating characters and roleplaying. This lore was created and designed with careful and thoughtful attention to detail. Do not argue, disrespect, or try to alter what is established. While we are open to ideas given to us, please take them to a Mod or Admin before applying them to your character or roleplay. Not all ideas may be accepted, and failure to respect the lore will result in a warning. If it is a continuous issue, you will be asked to remove yourself from the roleplay.
3. Please refrain from using this roleplay as your personal dating service. While we understand sparks can fly between members, please do not seek it out.
4. The RP follows a basic Para/novella standard, and T-1 style of fighting/posting. If your character partakes in fights of any kind, you may be asked to roll a dice. All dice rolls will be done here so they can be monitored by the owners, admins, and mods unless having to do with combat: Read #dice-rolling. - Please ask for assistance if you have questions or don’t understand how to use the dice system. (Mods and Admins first)
5. Please keep true to your character's original design. Do not change or do something out of character to be relevant to the situation. Stay consistent with your characters flaws and strengths. Do not change out of convenience.
6. Please respect the owners, mods, and admins in their respective roles. They are here to help and assist you.
7. Do not have your character only interact with other characters of genders they are attracted to. We understand that personal background character trauma toward a certain gender will happen. Do not exclude other characters because OOC you have a gender preference.
8. NO META RP- meta rp is taking information about another character you have learned in OOC and applying it while IC for personal gain or character sabotage.
9. YOU MUST HAVE A BASIC BIO IF YOU WISH TO JOIN THE RP. This doesn't mean you have to type out an entire history for your character if you are at a loss. Feel free to take time establishing your character and story but you will not be allowed to participate in Roleplays anymore if you do not have the basic format as follows: Name: Race: Age: Gender: Abilities: If you feel you may not be able to do this, making extra characters might be more beneficial if they are NPCs instead of RPCs.
10. New players of the RP will be put on a trial period of 3 weeks time. In this time you must have a bio be approved and posted. You must be active in either roleplaying or in the OOC (ex, bouncing ideas, plotting, making plans to rp)
11. While we understand that real life comes first, we encourage everyone to stay active as much as they can. Stagnant roleplays can keep others from moving forth in their character and other roleplays. If you need to take a hiatus please contact a Mod or Admin. If you wish to no longer be part of the roleplay because maybe this isnt working with your creative flow, let us know. If you are away from the OOC and not posting longer than 3 weeks you will be contacted by a Mod or Admin as to the status of your membership. If a roleplay doesn't seem to be going far, and you wish to start over, just contact a Mod or Admin about restarting said thread.
12. REGARDING ERP, SEXUAL CONTENT- Guys, we get things can get heated in RP, and again we’re all adults. If your found in lewd scenes, please be sure to place a trigger warning in the beginning of the post or you may also Fade To Black, FTB, as a way to end the scene. No judgment here y’all; some people like to ERP, and others don’t. So, respect what one or the other may or may not do
13. REGARDING THE TRIGGER WARNINGS: Violence, self-harm/suicide, Child abuse/pedophilia/incest/death, Racism and racial slurs, Pornographic content and DEATH. Quite a list there but any of these need to be flagged via OOC or in brackets of the RP. If you are unable to handle any of these, please react with so that we can put you in the proper category not to see these types of RPs.
14. Intended flags must be used! - If a scene gets too graphic sexually or explicit; language or gore, we ask you to add trigger word flags so that readers know. Though we don’t mind cursing, try not to drop to many F’bombs in scenes or be extreme sailor’s even if your character has a potty mouth. These are things that can get the rooms flagged for or the group. Be mindful that not everyone appreciates certain glorified graphic scenes, so flags are appreciated if their sensitive. That way as a writer your being respectful to the reader. - Please don’t ignore this rule, we’d hate to have to talk with you about something that takes a few seconds to add.
15. No CLAIMING/HOUNDING other players for their RPCs.
-This means you don’t PM them, or immediately insist they PM you the moment their online. You may desire certain interactions, but let it flow and be casual. Trying to claim or hound someone in the RP, makes things very uncomfortable. Also, don’t hide yourself either and then magically show up once that person your waiting for logs in. - We see you doing it, don’t act like your not.
-If found claiming OOCly or hounding, you will be talked to or possibly removed.
SIDE NOTE: Claiming and Hounding can lead to OOC emotions too. So, it’s in your best interests as the players to not cross that threshold. We understand sometimes certain story lines are exciting and fun and we don’t ask that you not enjoy 1v1’s either; we’re merely asking you keep a clear mind about what your doing.
16. While we all enjoy a good chit chat, watch what topics are brought up and/or what is said in the OOC Room. • None of the following are allowed in the OOC room •
- Baiting members into arguments.
-Talk of religion.
-Talk of politics.
-Disrespecting someone's chosen pronouns.
-Talk of pedophilia, rape, or sex with animals.
-Threatening other members.
-Racial slurs.
-Self Harm that is not of a harmless joking manner.
17. 18+ here guys, no exceptions.
- If you're underage you can't participate.
- Simple as that.
- If found being underage even after you agreed of the age requirements, you’ll be quietly removed.
- Children characters are allowed in play, but have strict rules.
18. Limit 3 threads per character at a time. Do not go beyond a two week time period that all other threads are taking place in. If a roleplay was on hiatus longer than a month, it must be summarized or terminated.
19. DO NOT @Leifa IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SOMEONE FROM NOW ON CUZ IM BOUT TO BLAST LIKE JIMMY NEUTRON BOIS. Keep the drama out of the ooc, message the person you have an issue with. I aint ya mami and I aint ya daddy. YEET OUTTA MY DMS WITH THIS MESS.
20. Please do not join an RP events if you are unable to be active and post in at least once a day when it is your turn and in session. We are trying to avoid dragging events out. If you cannot post within 24 hours, you will have one more chance to post in. If you do this your character will be skipped and NPC'd out of the scene and you will not receive event rewards. (Valid emergencies and reasons why are you are unable to post are of course considered and accepted)
21. When a player has reached +10 (or base die equivalent) modifier on their attack damage, they will up their base damage dice. Example: D4 + 10 modifier. Reward: D4 dmg modifier, roll 4 The base attack is now D6. The modifier will then be reset to half of that dice strength. (Yes this can potentially weaken your character for a short time. Be sure to engage in smaller battles during this period.)
22. When creating your character bios, please do not use fancy/elaborate fonts. We need to be able to read your information. An owner/admin/mod may as you to change the font on your sheet if the font you have chosen is illegible.
23. Please be sure to send your character bio to a mod, admin or the owners for pre-approval before dropping these into the #character-bios channel.
24. Regarding the NSFW content of this server. All members of Elsgadir will have the RPer role and will lose access to the NSFW channels that existed prior to this update. While Elsgadir operates under an 18+ veil, we have not verified the ages of our members beyond trusting their words. We have had a number of concerns regarding inappropriate/NSFW behaviour being shared in this server as well as private messages between members, including the sending of images (occasionally unsolicited). While the Mod Team is here to moderate the ongoings within the server, oftentimes our hands are tied when it comes to member/member relations outside of the server itself. That being said, if another member sends you any unsolicited NSFW material in DMs, please let one of the moderators know and we will act accordingly: this includes possibly banning the offender from the server or suspending them while we investigate. Sending unsolicited NSFW/sexual images qualifies as sexual harassment and we will take this seriously. The word-of-mouth verification that has operated up until this point does not protect you from the possibility that someone is lying about their age. This can have legal repercussions for the 18+ member of an exchange, even if a minor lied about their true age to get access. Please be aware of this! As a mod team, we can only control — to an extent — the ongoings of this server, but are not responsible for what goes on in DMs. We can only make you aware of the possibilities. Should something happen, that responsibility falls solely to the involved party.
In order to access the NSFW channels in this server, you must validate your date-of-birth by showing a mod a piece of identification. If you desire to have access to the NSFW channels in The Ascendance, you must: 1. Approach a mod or admin directly expressing your desire to gain access to these channels. 2. The mod or admin will then give you instructions (hold up two fingers next to your ID, etc.) 3. You will send an image of your ID showing only your date of birth as the instructions describe. Please block out any other identifiers, including your picture, name, etc. And one more note: you are not permitted to send any/all sexual content (this means any overtly sexual discussions, NSFW channel and even erotica in public forums) until you have provided an ID. Failure to comply with this, or sending any NSFW material in non-NSFW channels (INCLUDING VOICE CHANNELS), will result in a ban. Thank you for your understanding. We hope this will help make a safer and pleasant environment for everyone in the server.
