Once a thriving Kingdom, these structures are now a desolate memorial of one of Elsgadir's most ancient races. In the history of these ruins, the Eladrin tended these halls and reigned over the city of Elsgadir, setting standards, conducts and spreading peace, which lasted through the countless millennium. Unfortunately, these walls were also the protectors of the book of shadows and when the great Kauhl had pilfered the texts, those who remained within would be the first to face the backlash of his wrath. 
Come the face of every full moon, a number of the Eladrin would turn to stone without warning. A desolate mist spread across the kingdom grounds and those who attempted to leave after graced by the mist would fall terminally ill. Only those Eladrin that dared not step foot within the kingdom again might be spared by this illness, but within the towers or not, they might still fall victim to the moons wrath. 
Today, the mist has largely dissipated but a sheet remains as a reminder to those that dare enter the terminal risk. As far as those within Elsgadir know of, the Eladrin are all extinct or remain in a state of stone within these forbidden walls.
